Meet Alek Osinski
Actor / Writer
After watching The Empire Strikes back on its first weekend, Alek wrote a letter to George Lucas asking to be cast as the young Luke Skywalker. (He's still waiting for a response, but with continually improving CGI its not totally out of the question.)
Perhaps because it’s about space, Alek is particularly proud of his hilarious role as a befuddled police officer in the feature film Stationed at Home, which makes its world premier at the Glasgow Film Festival.
Alek took the scenic root to acting- although not all of it was particularly relaxing. He has worked as a professional cook, was a United States Army Artilleryman, and eventually decided the best way to make a difference was to work as a licensed Physical Therapist. Alek’s life changed forever when he landed in Ithaca NY, stumbling upon the The Actor’s Workshop of Ithaca (AWI), Central New York’s premiere Meisner Technique Training Studio. There he studied with Eliza VanCort, found his passion and community, and started a new chapter in his life. Since graduating from AWI, Alek has appeared on PBS as the lead in “No Fare”, and co-founded the successful theatre and film production company - The House of Ithaqua.
Alek loves being an uncle, is handy with a gun, makes a mean apple pie, and is a forever burdened fan of the Buffalo Bills
